Pomegranate features a wide lace panel on front and back and a crisp twisted ribbing on the sleeves and neckband. It is designed to be worn with 2-3 inches of positive ease.

Because it is knit in the round from the bottom to the armholes, the only seams are at the shoulders. The set-in sleeves are knit in the round from the top down, and the sleeve caps are shaped with short rows.

I would describe the level of difficulty as advanced beginner/intermediate. Experience with knitting lace, reading charts, and working in the round is helpful. The stitch patterns are given in chart form only. Techniques include working in the round on circulars and dpns, twisted and wrapped stitches, and short rows.

The yarn, Quince & Co.'s Chickadee, was a delight to work with. It produced a satisfying fabric that feels good against bare skin and it worked equally well in both stockinette and lace. I would use it again in a heartbeat!

Be sure to knit a substantial swatch, no matter what yarn you use. Many yarns behave differently once blocked. The Chickadee definitely relaxed after blocking; both the body ribbing and the lace opened up nicely after a soak in Eucalan. Before blocking, the fit was almost too snug; after blocking, it was just right.

Thanks to all of you who left comments for my yarn/pattern/beads giveaway. The Random Number Generator says the winner is ... roxyrana! Roxyrana, please let me know how to contact you to arrange shipment. I'm bluepeninsula on Ravelry.

Thanks also to Katherine for her expert technical editing, and to Jackie for getting up before sunrise to model the sweater on a chilly hilltop. The photo shoot was lots of fun, and we were fortunate to have excellent light and not a bit of wind. I also want to say thanks to everybody here on the blog and on Ravelry who are such enthusiastic fans of my designs. Your supportive and positive comments mean the world to me.
