Named after a genus of dragonflies, the Cordulia Cowl is a beautiful lace accessory to make for yourself or as a gift. It's worked in the round on a circular needle — no grafting or seaming required — with DK weight yarn.
Finished (Blocked) Measurements: 34.5 inches/87 cm circumference by 8.75 inches/22 cm deep
Yardage: 295 yds/270 m DK weight yarn. Sample was knit with Foxhill Farm Cormo DK 100% wool; 308yd/282m per 3.5 oz skein, 1 skein.
The yarn for the sample was originally an undyed off-white color. I dyed it yellow using marigolds, with an alum mordant. I followed the natural dyeing recommendations in the book Wild Color by Jenny Dean.
NOTE: If your gauge is looser than what is listed, you may require more yarn. To save time, check gauge.
Needles and Notions:
—US #5/3.75mm 24-inch circular
—Stitch markers, tapestry needle
Gauge: 21 sts/34 rows = 4”/10 cm in lace stitch, after blocking
The stitch patterns are provided in both charts and written, line-by-line form.
