Bay Road Mitts

These pretty cable-and-lace mitts are a companion design to the Bay Road Cowl. Named after a winding rural road in my hometown of Amherst, Massachusetts, they’re worked in sportweight yarn.

Sizes: The pattern provides instructions for two sizes.
—Hand circumference: 7 (7.5) inches/18 (19) cm unstretched at widest part of palm
—Length: 6.5 inches/16.5 cm from cast-on to bind-off

Yarn: 125 (135) yds/115 (125)m sportweight yarn. Sample in size Small/Medium was knit with one skein of Neighborhood Fiber Co. Capital Luxury Sport 70% merino wool, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon; 360yds/330 m per 4 oz/114g skein, colorway; Patterson Park.

Needles
—US #3/3.25mm double-pointed needles
—US #4/3.50mm double-pointed needles OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Notions: Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle

Gauge: 24 sts/38 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking
